Gratitude Challenge Day 69 – Showing Appreciation

Welcome to Day 69 of our Gratitude Challenge! Today, we dive into the heart of gratitude: Showing Appreciation. Whether it’s a simple “thank you,” a thoughtful gesture, or an intentional act of kindness, appreciation transforms relationships and lifts spirits. But what does it truly mean to show appreciation, and how can we do it in ways that honour God and those around us?

Why Showing Appreciation Matters

Showing appreciation isn’t just polite—it’s powerful. It builds trust, encourages others, and deepens our sense of community. For Christians, expressing gratitude is also a response to God’s goodness.

  • Related keywords: Expressing gratitude, Words of affirmation, Acts of kindness

Biblical Foundation

Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:11:

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."

Appreciation is more than words; it’s a way to build up those around us.

Practical Ways to Show Appreciation

How can we make appreciation a daily habit? Here are some practical, Bible-inspired ways:

1. Speak Words of Affirmation

A sincere compliment or word of thanks can brighten someone’s day.

  • “I appreciate your help with the project.”
  • “Your encouragement meant so much to me.”
Proverbs 16:24:
"Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

2. Acts of Kindness

Actions often speak louder than words.

  • Make a meal for someone who’s struggling.
  • Offer to pray with a friend in need.
  • Send an encouraging note or text.

3. Listen Attentively

Sometimes, showing appreciation means giving someone your full attention.

  • Put away your phone.
  • Make eye contact.
  • Reflect back what you hear.

Common Questions About Showing Appreciation

Why is it hard sometimes?

Many people struggle with expressing gratitude because they worry about sounding insincere or awkward. Remember: genuine appreciation is always welcome. Pray for the right words, and let your heart guide you.

Can small gestures really make a difference?

Absolutely! Jesus highlighted the value of small acts in Matthew 10:42:
"And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward."

Quick Tips for Daily Appreciation

  • Start your day by thanking God for one blessing.
  • Each day, tell someone why you appreciate them.
  • Keep a gratitude journal and reflect on people who have impacted you.
  • Pray for those who’ve blessed your life.

Conclusion: Let Your Gratitude Shine

Showing appreciation isn’t just for special occasions—it’s a daily practice that reflects God’s love. As you continue this Gratitude Challenge, remember: your words and actions matter!

Read Gratitude Challenge Day 47 - Appreciating Time

Time is one of the most precious resources we have, yet it often slips through our fingers unnoticed. On Day 47 of our Gratitude Challenge, let's focus on Appreciating Time and discover how valuing every moment can transform our lives and spiritual walk.

Why Appreciating Time Matters

Many people ask, "Why should I focus on appreciating time?" The answer is simple: Time is a gift from God. Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom." When we recognize the value of each day, we become more intentional about how we live, love, and serve.

Related Keywords:

  • Valuing Moments
  • Time Management
  • Mindfulness
  • Christian Living

The Biblical Perspective on Time

The Bible frequently reminds us about the importance of time:

  • Ecclesiastes 3:1"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven."
  • James 4:14"Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring... For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."

These passages encourage us to treasure each moment and be mindful of how we use our time.

How to Start Appreciating Time

1. Reflect Daily

Set aside a few minutes each day to thank God for the time He has given you. Consider writing down one way you saw God at work during your day.

2. Be Present

Practice mindfulness by focusing on your current activity or conversation. Avoid distractions and give your full attention to those around you.

3. Prioritize What Matters

Use time management skills to focus on what aligns with your values and faith. Make a list:

  • Family time
  • Serving others
  • Personal devotion and prayer
  • Rest and recreation

4. Let Go of Regrets

Philippians 3:13 reminds us not to dwell on the past but to press forward. Release regrets over wasted time and commit to making the most of each day ahead.

Common Questions About Appreciating Time

Q: How can I stop feeling guilty about wasted time?
A: Acknowledge past mistakes, ask God for help (1 John 1:9), and start fresh. God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Q: Is it wrong to rest or relax?
A: Not at all! Jesus himself rested (Mark 6:31). Balanced rest helps us appreciate our time and serve better.

Q: How do I balance work, family, and faith?
A: Plan your days with prayer and intention. Use simple tools like calendars or lists to organize priorities without overwhelming yourself.

Simple Tips for Valuing Moments

  • Set reminders to pause and pray during the day.
  • Celebrate small milestones—each day is a gift.
  • Encourage others to appreciate time by sharing your experiences.

Conclusion & Call-to-Action

Appreciating time is more than just good advice—it’s a biblical principle that leads to wisdom, peace, and deeper faith. As you continue this Gratitude Challenge, pay attention to how you spend each moment. Cherish today; it’s a gift you’ll never receive again.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” – Colossians 3:23

Let’s make every moment count, together.

Today’s 70-Day Gratitude Challenge Question

What is meant by giving thanks with a “Whole Heart” in terms of gratitude?

Thanks. That’s a great question.

Are you ready to experience gratitude that transforms every part of your life?

Most people think gratitude is just a feeling. But in ancient Hebrew thought, your “whole heart” means much more. The heart is where you make decisions, take action, and feel emotion—it’s everything working together.

Giving thanks with your whole heart means:

  • Choosing to be grateful (decision)
  • Feeling the impact of that choice (emotion)
  • Showing appreciation in your everyday life (action)

In the Live LIGHT 70-Day Gratitude Challenge, you’ll practice this three-part gratitude every day:

  1. Decide to give thanks.
  2. Feel grateful for what you’ve chosen.
  3. Act by showing appreciation.

What does the Bible say about living with your whole heart?

You are called to:

  • Love God (Deuteronomy 10:12)
  • Serve and Obey God (1 Samuel 12:24, Deuteronomy 30:2)
  • Trust God (Proverbs 3:5)
  • Repent (Joel 2:12-13)
  • Seek God (Jeremiah 29:13)
  • Work as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23)
  • Forgive Others (Matthew 18:35)
  • Thank God (Psalms 138:1)
  • Praise God (Psalms 103:1)

This challenge isn’t just about feeling thankful—it’s about making gratitude a lifestyle, rooted in faith and action.

Gratitude Challenge Day 39 – Others’ Gratitude

Have you ever paused to notice how others’ gratitude can inspire your own? Day 39 of our Gratitude Challenge focuses on this uplifting truth: observing and sharing in others’ gratitude can deepen your faith, bring joy, and strengthen relationships. Let’s explore how witnessing thankfulness in those around us transforms our hearts and communities.

The Ripple Effect of Others’ Gratitude

Gratitude isn’t just a personal experience—it’s contagious! When we see others express thankfulness, whether through words or actions, it encourages us to do the same. This ripple effect is powerful in Christian communities, where encouraging one another is a calling (Hebrews 10:24).

Why Pay Attention to Others’ Gratitude?

  • Reinforces Positivity: Witnessing others’ gratitude reminds us of God’s goodness.
  • Strengthens Bonds: Shared thankfulness creates deeper connections.
  • Inspires Faith: Stories of God’s provision in others’ lives build our trust in Him.

How Can We Recognize Gratitude in Others?

Sometimes, we’re so focused on our own journey that we miss the blessings around us. Here are practical ways to notice gratitude in others:

  1. Listen for Praise Reports: During church or small group gatherings, pay attention to testimonies and answered prayers.
  2. Observe Acts of Kindness: Simple gestures like a smile, note of thanks, or helping hand often come from a grateful heart.
  3. Read and Share Bible Verses: The Psalms are filled with examples of communal thanksgiving (Psalm 95:1-3).

Common Questions About Others’ Gratitude

Isn’t Gratitude Just Between Me and God?

While personal gratitude is vital (1 Thessalonians 5:18), the Bible encourages us to celebrate together. In Colossians 3:16, Paul writes about letting the word of Christ dwell among us as we teach and admonish one another “with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

What If I Struggle to Feel Thankful?

It’s normal! Sometimes, life’s challenges cloud our view. That’s when observing others’ gratitude is most helpful:

  • Ask someone what they’re thankful for.
  • Join a gratitude group or online community.
  • Reflect on shared blessings in prayer.

Simple Ways to Encourage Others’ Gratitude

Want to help gratitude flourish? Try these:

  • Share Your Thankfulness: Speak up about what God has done for you.
  • Celebrate Milestones Together: Mark answered prayers and victories as a community.
  • Pray for a Thankful Heart: Ask God to open your eyes to the blessings around you (Philippians 4:6).

Conclusion & Call to Action

Others’ gratitude reminds us that thankfulness is both personal and collective—a gift we receive and share. As Christians, let’s encourage one another in giving thanks, making our communities shine with joy and faith.

Gratitude Challenge Day 30 – Shelter Song

Gratitude for Shelter is one of the most overlooked blessings in our daily lives. As we finish our 30-day gratitude challenge, today’s focus is on the “Shelter Song”—the heartfelt recognition that having a safe place to call home is a gift worth celebrating and thanking God for every day.

Why Gratitude for Shelter Matters

Shelter offers much more than four walls and a roof. It provides:

  • Physical security
  • Rest and comfort
  • A space for family and fellowship

When we pause and reflect on our home, we see God’s provision in action. Psalm 91:1 says, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” This verse highlights both God’s protective shelter and our physical homes as symbols of His care.

Related Keywords:

  • Thankfulness for home
  • God’s protection
  • Safe haven
  • Blessings of shelter

Common Questions About Gratitude for Shelter

1. What does the Bible say about shelter?

The Bible frequently uses shelter as both a practical need and a spiritual metaphor.

  • Proverbs 18:10 states: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
  • Isaiah 32:2 compares a leader to “a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the storm.”

These verses emphasize God’s role as protector while reminding us to value our physical homes.

2. How can I practice gratitude for my home?

Here are simple ways to cultivate thankfulness for your shelter:

  1. Pray daily—Thank God for your home’s safety and comfort.
  2. Bless your home—Read Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
  3. Help others—Support ministries or organizations that provide shelter for those in need.

3. Why do Christians emphasize gratitude for shelter?

As followers of Christ, we recognize that every good thing comes from above (James 1:17). Our homes are not just buildings; they are gifts:

  • Spaces for prayer and worship
  • Places to nurture faith in children

Today’s 70-Day Gratitude Challenge Question

Is there a Theology of Thanks?

Theology of Thanks

Good theology is seen as an embryo with the patriarchs, drawn out in the Torah, declared in the wisdom literature, proclaimed by the prophets, lived out in the life of Christ, expounded by the apostles, and experienced in the life of the early church.

Giving thanks always is good theology.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

The Patriarchs

Genesis 24:26-27 – Abraham’s servant bowed and worshipped the LORD, giving thanks for God’s guidance in finding Rebekah. "Then the man bowed down and worshiped the LORD, saying, 'Praise be to the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master.'"

Note:
The patriarchs show thanks mainly through building altars, offering sacrifices, naming significant places/wells, making vows, and verbally acknowledging God's goodness. Explicit words like “thank you” are rare; gratitude is shown by worship and obedience.

See:

Genesis 12:7, Genesis 12:8, Genesis 13:4, Genesis 13:18, Genesis 17:3, Genesis 22:13–14, Genesis 26:22, Genesis 26:24–25, Genesis 28:18–22, Genesis 31:54, Genesis 32:9–12, Genesis 35:14–15, Genesis 41:16, Genesis 45:5–9

The Torah

Leviticus 7:12-15 – The law of the thank offering (todah). "If he offers it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering he is to offer... It must be eaten on the day of the offering; he must leave none of it till morning.”

Note:
Gratitude in the Torah outside of Genesis and the patriarchs is displayed through songs of praise (such as the Song of Moses and Miriam after crossing the Red Sea), sacrificial offerings of thanksgiving (like peace offerings and thank offerings), formal blessings and prayers, and rituals that acknowledge God's deliverance, provision, and mercy. These acts emphasize recognizing God’s involvement in the lives of the people through worship, celebration, and dedicated offerings.

See:

Exodus 15:1–21, Exodus 18:10–12, Leviticus 7:11–15, Leviticus 22:29, Numbers 7:1–88, Numbers 18:11

Wisdom Literature

Psalm 100:4 – Thanksgiving as central to worship. "Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”

Note:
Gratitude in Wisdom Literature is displayed through songs and prayers of thanksgiving, praise for God's deeds and character, public declaration of God's goodness, offerings of thanks, and acknowledging God’s guidance and provision in daily life. These texts encourage expressing thankfulness both privately and communally, emphasizing the importance of recognizing God’s role in blessing and sustaining life.

See:

Psalm 7:17, Psalm 9:1, Psalm 28:7, Psalm 30:12, Psalm 35:18, Psalm 50:14, Psalm 69:30, Psalm 92:1, Psalm 95:2, Psalm 100:4, Psalm 105:1, Psalm 106:1, Psalm 107:1, Psalm 118:1, Psalm 136:1–3, Psalm 138:1–2, Proverbs 3:6, Proverbs 15:8, Proverbs 15:33, Proverbs 16:3, Ecclesiastes 3:12–13

The Prophets

Isaiah 12:4-5 – Thanksgiving as a response to God’s salvation. "Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples... Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously…”

Note:
Gratitude in the Prophets is shown through songs and prayers of thanksgiving, public praise for God's deliverance and mercy, and commitments to worship despite hardship. The prophets often model thankfulness by acknowledging God's saving acts, restoration, and ongoing faithfulness, both personally and on behalf of the community. These expressions highlight gratitude as a response to God's intervention and as a core part of faithful living even in times of trouble.

See:

Isaiah 12:1, Isaiah 25:1, Isaiah 38:19–20, Isaiah 51:3, Jeremiah 30:19, Jeremiah 33:11, Daniel 2:23, Daniel 6:10, Jonah 2:9, Habakkuk 3:17–18

Life of Christ

Matthew 11:25 – Jesus gives thanks to the Father.
"At that time Jesus declared, 'I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth...'"

John 6:11 – Jesus gives thanks before feeding the multitude.
"Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them…"

Note:
Gratitude in the life of Christ is displayed through prayers of thanksgiving before meals, expressions of thanks to the Father for revelation and answered prayer, and blessing God in public settings. Jesus regularly gives thanks before significant actions—such as feeding multitudes and at the Last Supper—showing gratitude as an integral part of His relationship with the Father and His ministry. These acts model a life of thankfulness, recognizing God's provision and presence in all circumstances.

See:

Matthew 11:25, Matthew 15:36, Matthew 26:27, Mark 6:41, Mark 8:6, Mark 14:23, Luke 9:16, Luke 10:21, Luke 22:17, Luke 22:19, John 6:11, John 6:23, John 11:41

Apostles

Colossians 3:17 – Thanksgiving marks all Christian action.
"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Note:
Gratitude in the Epistles and Revelation is taught and shown by the apostles through frequent prayers of thanksgiving for other believers, encouragement to give thanks in all circumstances, and instructions to make thankfulness a continual part of worship and daily life. The apostles highlight gratitude as essential for spiritual maturity and community health, often pairing it with joy and praise. In Revelation, heavenly beings continually give thanks to God for His power, salvation, and eternal reign, showing gratitude as a central response to God's work in history and eternity.

See:
Romans 1:8, Romans 6:17, Romans 7:25, 1 Corinthians 1:4, 1 Corinthians 15:57, 2 Corinthians 2:14, 2 Corinthians 9:11, 2 Corinthians 9:12, Ephesians 1:16, Ephesians 5:20, Philippians 1:3, Colossians 1:3, Colossians 2:7, Colossians 3:17, Colossians 4:2, 1 Thessalonians 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 2 Thessalonians 1:3, 2 Timothy 1:3, Philemon 1:4, Hebrews 12:28, Hebrews 13:15, James 1:17, Revelation 4:9, Revelation 7:12, Revelation 11:17

Early Church

Ante-Nicene Fathers:

a. Didache (late 1st or early 2nd century)

Didache 9:1-4 – Thanksgiving prayers over the cup and bread in the Eucharist: "Now concerning the Eucharist, give thanks this way… We give thee thanks, our Father, for the holy vine of David thy servant..."

b. Ignatius of Antioch (c. 35–108 AD)

Letter to the Ephesians 5 "...Let us give thanks to Jesus Christ, our God, who has bestowed such wisdom upon you."

c. Justin Martyr (c. 100–165 AD)

First Apology, ch. 65–67 – Thanksgiving in worship: "...bread and a cup of wine mixed with water are brought to him who presides... he gives praise and glory to the Father of the universe through the name of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and gives thanks at considerable length..."

d. Irenaeus (c. 130–202 AD)

Against Heresies, Book IV, ch. 17.5 "...the offering of the church, which the Lord gave instructions to be offered throughout all the world... giving thanks to God for His gift…"

Note:
Gratitude in the Ante-Nicene Fathers is taught and shown by the early church through liturgical prayers of thanksgiving at the Eucharist, personal prayers expressing thanks for salvation and daily blessings, and exhortations to live lives marked by thankfulness to God. The Fathers emphasize gratitude as central to Christian worship and community life, often linking it to love, humility, and recognition of God's grace and providence. Thanksgiving is described as both a regular practice in gathered worship and a daily commitment for believers.

Giving thanks is good theology and giving thanks is good for us. Anyone will have the benefit that comes when every day you decide to give thanks, feel grateful for what you’ve decided to give thanks for and show appreciation for what you feel grateful for. Anyone will benefit. Christians are commanded to live it.

Giving thanks is not only commended and commanded throughout Scripture—from its earliest stages to its mature expression in Christ and apostolic teaching—but it is also embedded in early Christian worship and theology, as seen in the writings and liturgies of the Ante-Nicene Fathers. Thanksgiving is good theology because it is a response to God’s revelation and gifts at every stage of redemptive history.

Gratitude Challenge Day 21 – Full Gratitude

Have you ever wondered what it truly means to live with full gratitude? As we reach Day 21 of our Gratitude Challenge, today’s focus is on embracing gratitude as a way of life, not just a fleeting feeling. Let’s discover how living with full gratitude, thankfulness, and appreciation can transform your journey, especially through the lens of Christian faith.

What Is Full Gratitude?

Full gratitude goes beyond saying “thank you” for the obvious blessings. It is an intentional attitude, a daily practice that shapes how we see every moment—good or challenging.

Related keywords: thankfulness, appreciation, blessing

Biblical Foundation of Gratitude

Scripture reminds us to be grateful in every circumstance. Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:18:

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Notice the all-encompassing nature—all circumstances. Full gratitude includes the ordinary, the difficult, and the unexpected.

How Full Gratitude Changes Your Perspective

Living with full gratitude shifts your view from scarcity to abundance. Here’s how:

  • Recognizing blessings: Counting both large and small gifts.
  • Fostering joy: Finding reasons to celebrate even on tough days.
  • Deepening relationships: Expressing genuine appreciation to others.

Common Questions About Full Gratitude

  1. Is full gratitude possible during hard times?
Yes. While it’s natural to feel discouraged, gratitude can coexist with sorrow. Psalm 34:1 says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Even David praised God in adversity.
  2. How can I practice full gratitude daily?
    • Start each morning with a prayer of thanks.
    • Keep a gratitude journal—write down three blessings each night.
    • Verbally appreciate someone every day.

Does gratitude really make a difference?

Studies (and scripture) show gratitude leads to greater well-being and peace. Philippians 4:6 instructs:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Gratitude helps us surrender worry and trust God.

Simple Steps for Practicing Full Gratitude

Are you ready to experience the joy of full gratitude? Today marks Day 21 of our Gratitude Challenge, and we’re diving deep into what it means to live a life overflowing with thankfulness. Whether you’ve been following along or are just joining us, embracing full gratitude can transform your heart, relationships, and perspective.

Full gratitude is more than a fleeting thank you—it’s a lifestyle of noticing, naming, and nurturing thankfulness in every area of life. It’s the intentional practice of recognizing God’s blessings, big and small, and responding with a grateful heart.

Related keywords: gratitude journaling, thankful heart, Christian gratitude

Why Does Full Gratitude Matter?

  • Strengthens Faith: The Bible encourages believers to “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Practicing full gratitude helps us see God’s hand in every situation.
  • Builds Resilience: Thankfulness shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, building resilience against discouragement.
  • Deepens Relationships: Expressing gratitude fosters kindness and connection with others.

How to Practice Full Gratitude

Here are simple, actionable steps for cultivating a thankful heart every day:

1. Start a Gratitude Journal

Writing down three things you’re grateful for each day can help you notice God’s blessings. Reflect on both big moments and small joys.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1)

2. Pray with Thanksgiving

Begin your prayers by thanking God specifically for His goodness. This can shift your focus from requests to recognition of His faithfulness.

3. Share Your Gratitude

Tell someone why you appreciate them. A simple “thank you” or note of encouragement can brighten someone’s day and spread positivity.

4. Remember God’s Works

Take time to recall how God has worked in your life. Remembrance leads to gratitude and trust. The Israelites were often reminded to remember God’s deeds (Psalm 77:11).

5. Practice Daily Reflection

End your day by looking back and identifying moments where you saw God’s provision, kindness, or beauty.

Addressing Common Questions

Q: Can I feel full gratitude during hard times?
Absolutely! Full gratitude doesn’t mean ignoring challenges. Philippians 4:6 reminds us to present our requests to God “with thanksgiving.” Even in trials, we can find reasons to be thankful.

Q: What if I forget to be grateful?
It happens! Return to your gratitude journal or prayer time. God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Q: How does full gratitude change my outlook?
Practicing gratitude trains your mind to see blessings instead of burdens, peace instead of problems.

Tips for Staying Consistent

  • Set daily reminders
  • Join a gratitude group or challenge
  • Display a favourite Bible verse about thankfulness where you’ll see it often

Conclusion: Live Full of Gratitude

As we wrap up Day 21, remember that full gratitude is a journey, not a destination. It’s a daily choice to recognize God’s goodness and cultivate a thankful heart.

Read A thankful heart is a faithful heart

In the day-to-day of my everyday life, I realize the importance of having a thankful heart. It is through gratitude that I can truly appreciate the blessings bestowed upon me. These blessings I respond to in faith by being faithful to them. I am faithful to my family, my work, my church, and ultimately, my God.

I honour my father and mother so that it may be well with me and so I may live long on the earth. A friend loves at all times, and a sibling is born to help in time of need. I give thanks for them and am faithful to them. I honour my spouse and love them. Being patient and kind, not jealous or boastful or proud or rude, is a choice I make to love and honour them. I do not demand my own way and do my best to not be irritable. And I keep no record of being wronged and rejoice whenever the truth wins out. I never give up and I never lose faith and I am always hopeful, and endure—God helping me—through every circumstance. I am faithful to those God has entrusted to me and blessed me with.

I am faithful to receive a living through the gifts, talents and abilities God has blessed me with. Gratitude for these gifts opens the door to use them with excellence. Whatever I do, I work with my whole heart as unto the Lord. I am not slothful in zeal, but fervent in spirit, working hard, so I will not be a burden to anyone. I make it my ambition to lead a quiet life and work with my hands. The favour of the Lord my God is upon me and He establishes the work of my hands.

I don’t give up meeting together, but I consider how to stir up others and be stirred up by others towards love and good works. Where two or three have gathered together in His name, He is there. I am faithful to encourage and build others up, and don't neglect to ask for prayer and help from them. How good and pleasant it is for people to gather in harmony! I am faithful for as long as it depends on me, to be at peace with everyone.

I know Jesus said, “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.” I need to love Him more than my earliest love, my nearest love, and my dearest love. As I am faithful to God, I am faithful to them. As I am faithful to them, I am faithful to God.

A thankful heart is a faithful heart. Gratitude transforms my perspective and deepens my relationships with God and with others. By being faithful to my family, work, church, and—most importantly—to God, I can cultivate a heart filled with gratitude.

Today, I find strength, joy, and purpose in every step of my journey and remember a thankful heart is a faithful heart.

Reflection Questions to ask Holy Spirit:

  1. How can I cultivate a heart filled with gratitude in my day-to-day life, allowing it to deepen my relationships with God and others?
  2. In what ways am I being faithful to the blessings bestowed upon me, such as my family, work, church, and ultimately, God?
  3. How can I ensure that building a relationship with You remains my primary focus?
